Jiangcheng Art: A Unique Blend of Nature and Urban Design

Weimo Feng's Award-Winning Design Mirrors the Rhythm of Chongqing City

Chongqing, a city built within a mountain and surrounded by two rivers, has a distinct three-dimensional beauty. Its seemingly chaotic landscape is, in reality, orderly and rhythmic. Weimo Feng's design for Jiangcheng Art mirrors this unique characteristic of the city. The project, which started in November 2018 and completed in September 2020, incorporates the natural terraces into the design of the Grand Staircase, enriching the regional characteristics.

The project uses a variety of materials including mirror stainless steel, cement stone, aluminum alloy profile, skeletonized stone, manu art, and eco-foam. The design is divided into two main themes - nature and humanities. The space is shaped through natural terrain and enhanced with a cultural atmosphere, reflecting the city's slow growth and the 'restraint' that creates an oriental mood.

Light plays a significant role in the design. It travels through the space in different states, and its intensity changes create different rhythms, rhythms, and levels in the space, creating a unique artistic sensation. The design includes several distinct areas, each representing a different aspect of the city's landscape. These include the Heavy Mountain - Lobby, Cloud - Observation Deck, Water - Restaurant, and Sunny Forest - Pool.

The project faced several challenges, including capturing the three-dimensional beauty of the mountain city and the unique characteristics of the region. However, Weimo Feng successfully overcame these challenges, creating a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also reflects the city's spirit and cultural attributes.

The Jiangcheng Art project was awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is granted to outstanding creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
